Position: Boilermakers
Responsibilities:
- Build, erect, repair and maintain all types of boilers, tanks and pressure vessels
- Perform all types of structural and plate work on dust, air, gas, steam, oil, water and other liquid-tight containers
- Develop a layout and plan the sequence of work to be done
- Lay out plate, sheet steel or heavy metal and locate and mark bending and cutting lines
- Shape metal using metalworking machines such as shears and dill presses
- Cut metal plate and brackets using an oxy-fuel torch, and chip and grind parts to shape for fitting together
- Fit and tack weld parts together using electric arc welding equipment
Required skills and qualifications:
- 5+ years experience as a boilermaker
- Work with tools, equipment and machinery
- Must be precise
- Able to work with heavy equipment and parts weighing in excess to 25 kgs
- Good condition, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to tolerate odours, noise, dirty surroundings and heights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Position: Carpenters
Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings and sketches to determine specifications
- Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Use basic carpentry tools and operate standard carpentry machines such as compressors, nail guns and circular saws
Required skills and qualifications:
- 3+ experience as a carpenter or construction labourer
- Proficient with the use of trade tools (ie: hammer, tape measure with imperial and metric reading, manual and laser levels, skill saws, table saws, concrete drills and breakers)
- Ability to read blueprint will be considered an asset
- Excellent math and communication skills
Position: Cement Finishers
Responsibilities:
- Smooth and level freshly poured concrete
- Operate concrete finishing tools such as straightedges and floats
- Use and maintain equipment such as concrete cutting saws, concrete vibrators, compressors, tampers and jack hammers
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, doorsills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure concrete surfaces
- Repair, resurface and replace damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures
Required skills and qualifications:
- 3+ experience as a carpenter or construction labourer
- Proficient with the use of trade tools (ie: hammer, tape measure with imperial and metric reading, manual and laser levels, skill saws, table saws, concrete drills and breakers)
- Ability to read blueprint will be considered an asset
- Excellent math and communication skills
Position: Framers
Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings and sketches to determine specifications
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood tobuild foundations, floor beams, walls and roof systems
- Use basic carpentry tools and operate standard carpentry machines such as compressor, nail guns and circular saws
Required skills and qualifications:
- 3+ experience as a framer or similar trade
- Proficient with the use of trade tools (ie: hammer, tape measure with imperial and metric reading, manual and laser levels, skill saws, table saws, concrete drills and breakers)
- Excellent math, verbal and written communication skills
Position: General Labourers
Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and relocate equipment and construction materials around construction sites
- Erect and dismantle forms, scaffoldings, ramps and catwalks
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as gravel, concrete and ashphalt
- Assist trades persons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and pipe installers
- Tend or feed machines such as mixers, compressors and pumps
- Operate equipment such a pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers
Required skills and qualifications:
- 3+ experience as a construction labourer
- Familiar with use and operation of a variety of construction tools and equipment
- Physically able to manually lift, carry and relocate construction materials and equipments around construction sites
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Position: Form workers
Responsibilities:
- Assemble wood forms to shape concrete structures including footings, walls, bridges, columns and sidewalk
- Dismantle and clean re-usable forms for re-assembly and storing
- Assist with cement pouring using equipment such as pumps, conveyor belts, wheelbarrows, vibrators, levelling tools and chutes
- Operate power equipments such as circular saws, concrete vibrators, compressor, tampers, oxygen and acetylene cutting tools
- Perform carpentry work and install steel re-enforcement bars
- Prepare and store scaffoldings if required
Required skills and qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in construction environment
- Physically able to manually manoeuvre 80-100 lbs forms around construction site
- Excellen verbal and written communication skills
